American Library

Association Conference

A Literary Adventure

Photo Essay

This series of photos are from my visit to the American Library Association Conference in San Diego, California, where I promoted the release of my newest children’s book, Dear Black Boy, with Quarto Publishing. It was fascinating to be surrounded by book lovers, authors, librarians, publishers, and printers. Book lovers are really fun and cool people, also great conversationalists.

Having self-published my books for the first half of my career, this experience offered me a unique glimpse into the inner workings of the publishing industry. This photo essay captures the excitement and inspiration of being in a room filled with literary enthusiasts and professionals.

Readers are leaders.
